Dog Healthcare Programme
Puppies and adult dogs have a number of routine health issues that need to be addressed each year. These include annual vaccination, worming, flea and heart worm control.
Starting as puppies the new member of your family will need a series of two injections 4 weeks apart.

In addition, regular worming should be done. It is recommended that puppies up to three months old be wormed every 2 weeks, and then every three months after that.
Flea control should be undertaken routinely, we recommend a monthly Revolution spot on treatment as it is highly effective at controlling fleas and has the bonus of being effective in preventing heartworm.
Puppy classes are a great way to learn more about your new family member and also to teach your dog some of the social graces it will need when dealing with other dogs. Follow this Puppy Class link more information.

Bird Healthcare Programme
Dog and cat owners are used to taking their pets to the vet. Often our feathered friends rarely visit the vet. Birds are very good at hiding many of the diseases they are subject to. For this reason it is just as important to have your pet bird checked by the vet.
New Bird Check
The veterinarians at South St can examine your new bird for any existing problems. Physical
examination, worm egg detection, psittacosis testing and Beak and Feather disease testing can all be undertaken and are recommended for all new birds within 3 days of purchase. Advise on diet, housing and compatability are all readily available from the vets at South Street Clinic.
Annual Check
An annual check up is a great idea. During these examinations we can check for faecal eggs, give a full physical exam, monitor weight and answer any questions you may have about looking after your pet bird. New information that may be of interest to the bird owner is constantly becoming available, your veterinarian is the best source of this information.
